This wooden root trough is a vintage piece from Turkey. Originally a multipurpose item, used for a range of reasons from storage and animal feeding, this is a very unique piece. This piece is distinct not only because of its vintage nature, but because of how it was crafted; the piece was cut vertically through a cross-section of a tree's root. This construction makes for a trough with an organic look and feel. Today, the piece remains multifunctional, as it can be used as a decorative piece, trinket catchall, produce bowl, or a planter in the garden.
