KL8630 ANTIQUE 1890s CAUCASIAN SUMAK CRADLE TEXTILE 2' X 3'11"
1890s CRADLE FACE FROM THE CAUCASUS
This textile is an antique cradle face made in the Caucasus circa 1890. Hand-woven in the traditional Sumak style, this textile is strong and durable. Sumaks are known for their exquisite use of color, along with their geometric motifs and medallions – this piece is no exception, and it simply stunning. This flatweave is especially unique due to its original use as a cradle, though today it can be used as a small rug or decorative wall hanging.
Because of the size of our inventory, we are unable to keep textiles open and on display in store. Please note that slight shadows or differences in color may be shown in photographs due to how pieces are folded for storage. Any creases will surely fall out once the textile has been brushed and left open for a bit of time. We apologize for any inconsistency in appearance online.
As this is an antique, hand-woven textile, there may be some signs of age and use. Though we believe this wear only contributes to the character and uniqueness of each piece, the Nomadic Trading team will work to repair items when necessary. For more information regarding purchase of this textile and similar pieces, please reach out at sales.nomadic@gmail.com.
