CR8311 ANTIQUE 1890s TURKOMAN BESHIR RUG 5'5" X 11'1"
1890s BESHIR RUG WOVEN BY THE ERASRI TRIBES OF TURKMENISTAN
This antique rug is a collectible, hand-knotted Beshir carpet from Turkmenistan. Made in the 1890s by the Ersari tribe known for its distinctive rugs, this piece is one of excellent craftsmanship and condition. Beshir rugs are known for their rich red design fields with fibers naturally dyed using the madder plant, very fine knotting and intricate geometric designs and motifs. Given this rug's antique nature, it has a beautiful patina that has given the red colors in the piece a rustier undertone.
Because of the size of our inventory, we are unable to keep rugs open and on display in store. Please note that slight shadows or differences in color may be shown in photographs due to how rugs are folded for storage. Any creases will surely fall out once the rug has been brushed and left open for a bit of time. We apologize for any inconsistency in appearance online.
As this is an antique, hand-woven rug, there may be some signs of age and use. Though we believe this wear only contributes to the character and uniqueness of each piece, the Nomadic Trading team will work to repair items when necessary.
