PL8270 ANTIQUE 1900s KURDISH MALATYA TEXTILE 2'5" X 2'7"
1900s KILIM SADDLE BAG FROM TURKISH KURDISTAN
This textile is an antique kilim from the region of Malatya in Turkish Kurdistan circa 1900. Malatya textiles are known for their flatweave and course knotting, along with repetitive geometric motifs. While this piece was originally used as a saddle bag, today it can function as a small rug, wall hanging or pillow case. As this is an antique, once-functional item, there are some signs of use. However, the natural wear of this textile only adds to its rustic beauty and charm.
Because of the size of our inventory, we are unable to keep rugs open and on display in store. Please note that slight shadows or differences in color may be shown in photographs due to how rugs are folded for storage. Any creases will surely fall out once the rug has been brushed and left open for a bit of time. We apologize for any inconsistency in appearance online.
As this is a vintage, hand-woven rug, there may be some signs of age and use. Though we believe this wear only contributes to the character and uniqueness of each piece, the Nomadic Trading team will work to repair items when necessary. For more information regarding purchase of this rug and similar pieces, please reach out at sales.nomadic@gmail.com.
