These wooden dough bowls are handcrafted, vintage pieces from Turkey. Used throughout the early and mid-twentieth century primarily for making dough to feed the family, each piece was clearly a well-loved necessity in the kitchen.

As these bowls were once-functional goods, each has varying degrees softening to the wood and, in some cases, even a shadow of flour coating that comes with decades of use. Additionally, their vintage nature entails a level of natural deterioration and wear that often resulted in cracking, splitting or splintering—many pieces have been visibly repaired with hammered copper, tin and wooden splints so that they could still be used in the home. While we believe these cosmetic additions and signs of natural aging contribute to the uniqueness and character of each bowl, the Nomadic Trading team will work to provide the best options available according to your desired look.

Medium dough bowls are roughly 18-29” in height, 14-16” across, ¼-1” in thickness and around 10 pounds in weight. These sizing guidelines are loose, as each bowl is classified by any combination of each of these factors.
