This table is a vintage piece from Holland. This piece is especially unique, as it was once used as a pay table. Below the table top is a compartment that can be opened by sliding the top horizontally along the tracks of the base. In the past, the hidden compartment would be used for storage, and for facilitating a discrete changing of hands of money in public. Today, this compartment would be great for storage of cutlery and linens used for dining. Though the wear of the table is consistent with its age and use, the piece is in great condition–the table top has even been restored and refinished! Overall, the appearance of the table makes for a piece with rustic, farmhouse aesthetic, with the ornamentation of the base giving it an eclectic flair. 

Please note this piece measures 47.5" in length, 44" in width, and 30.5" in height.
