This textile is a vintage piece from Uzbekistan. Referred to as Suzani after the Persian word suzan, meaning needle, these embroidered pieces are rooted in Central Asian Silk Road culture. Serving multiple purposes and traditionally given as part of a bridal dowry, this piece can function as a tapestry, table cloth, bed spread, wrapping cloth or prayer mat. 

Because of the size of our inventory, we are unable to keep rugs open and on display in store. Please note that slight shadows or differences in color may be shown in photographs due to how rugs are folded for storage. Any creases will surely fall out once the rug has been brushed and left open for a bit of time. We apologize for any inconsistency in appearance online.

As this is a vintage, hand-woven rug, there may be some signs of age and use. Though we believe this wear only contributes to the character and uniqueness of each piece, the Nomadic Trading team will work to repair items when necessary.
