1990s ALL-NATURAL KILIM FROM KONYA TURKEY
This vintage rug is a kilim piece from Turkey. Kilim weaving is a centuries-old technique that makes for flatweave, no-pile pieces that are both aesthetically appealing and functional. Traditionally handmade in countries of the former Persian Empire, kilims are the basis of many different styles born from the region. Made almost entirely from raw goat hair and sheep's wool, this piece is made with all-natural fibers as they appear in nature (apart from the small floral-dyed, light blue designs). Originally intended as a tent wall or floor covering, this unique piece is sure to last for generations to come.
Because of the size of our inventory, we are unable to keep rugs open and on display in store. Please note that slight shadows or differences in color may be shown in photographs due to how rugs are folded for storage. Any creases will surely fall out once the rug has been brushed and left open for a bit of time. We apologize for any inconsistency in appearance online.
As this is a vintage, hand-woven rug, there may be some signs of age and use. Though we believe this wear only contributes to the character and uniqueness of each piece, the Nomadic Trading team will work to repair items when necessary.
