1950s DOWRY KILIM RUG FROM ARMENIA
This rug is a vintage kilim piece from Armenia made circa 1950. Kilim weaving is a centuries-old technique that makes for flatweave, no-pile pieces that are both aesthetically appealing and functional. Traditionally produced in countries of the former Persian Empire, kilims are the basis of many different styles born from the region. This particular piece is an Armenian dowry weave, and is a very finely woven piece. This rug is in pristine condition, as it has never been used.
Because of the size of our inventory, we are unable to keep rugs open and on display in store. Please note that slight shadows or differences in color may be shown in photographs due to how rugs are folded for storage. Any creases will surely fall out once the rug has been brushed and left open for a bit of time. We apologize for any inconsistency in appearance online.
As this piece is a vintage, hand-woven rug, there may be some signs of age and use. Though we believe this wear only contributes to the character and uniqueness of each piece, the Nomadic Trading team will work to repair items when necessary. For more information regarding purchase of this rug and similar pieces, please reach out at sales.nomadic@gmail.com.
